Btw I don't use 3 rd party programs no reason for it , not going take a risk at getting a virus on my top end rig EVEMon also works fine on Linux with Wine, and you can always setup a VM if you are really paranoid.
But seriously, EVEMon, EFT, and Pyfa are all fine. If there was no reason to use 3rd party tools CCP wouldn't have added EFT format support to the EVE client and spent all that time making an API for 3rd party tools to use. And you can't tell me that the in game fitting window does everything that it needs to do. |

NeCrox wrote:and yes some 3rd party programs have little things called key logger's or adware and yes some ccp may use it but they're not under any contract to keep the software clean geezs . I am not aware of any of the major 3rd party apps for EVE ever having any kind of spyware of malware bundled with them on their official download sites, and I have been using these tools and others like them since 2005.
Pyfa and EVEMon are both open source and their source code is readable by anyone. Granted not everyone knows how to read source code but if Pyfa or EVEMon did have something malicious buried in them somewhere I'm sure someone (such as myself) would have spotted it by now.
EFT is a bit more opaque but I have never noticed any odd traffic leaving my box on my Cisco 3745 or ASA 5505 when EFT was running. Had someone like me noticed any such traffic over the years I assure you that packet captures would have been started and Wireshark fired up.

Cool story bro. But I think your box may be a bit overkill for EVE. My aging Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition and crossfire paired Radeon HD 5770s run two EVE clients at once, both at 1080p on max settings, each on its own screen, without breaking a sweat. |

NeCrox wrote:I seriously doubt that aged box will run anything 1080p cool story and btw yes it was skill optimization was automatic in 04/05 they took out once they put in 24 hr skill queue . Look it's real easy I am not talking planning queue like 3rd party programs all I'm asking is something simple I stack 5 skills it auto sets said skills from lowest training time to highest , you all act like I'm asking for a golden apple. btw eve hear of a link tag ? example you got link to x program on your website I tag said link you can't see it server side only when x person dl will it come up happens all the time just check out Google or msn tons of link tags everywhere . Name calling cause I don't use said program is ridiculous , just because I choose not ot use 3rd party program doesn't make less of player. Btw source code isn't hard to read so stop acting foolish, and 2 x hd 5950's can't run 1080p sorry card's are only 2 gig and lack 1080p support cool story though a gtx 980 is oc 4 gig card can run 3 x monitor's in 1080p I personally don't see the need to go blind at an early age though . Please explain how skill optimization was done back when you couldn't queue up a skill to train until after the current one was done training. Back in 05 If your current skill finished at 3am you either got up at 3am to start a new still training or you missed several hours of training time.
There is nothing wrong with choosing not to use 3rd party tools. Just don't ask the EVE devs to spend time writing features that a 3rd party dev has already written.
Also, my steady 60 FPS (capped by my screen's 60hz refresh rate) in EVE, Crysis 2, Civ5, Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, and Bioshock Infinite (1920x1080, all max settings) would disagree with you. I do admit that the thermal output is a bit higher than I would like though. I'm sure I would have issues at higher resolutions but my screens are physically limited to 1920x1080 so, meh. |

You don't seem to understand. Until 09 there was no skill queue at all.
Please direct me to the patch notes where the skill queue was added before 09. Also, some people might want to have a longer skill before a shorter one. Why should the EVE client sort them at all? As many others have pointed out, drag and drop isn't hard. |
